Position: Cost Accountant Report To: Finance Manager
This position oversees the plant’s costing activities, and is responsible for product costing, variance analysis, inventory evaluation, reporting, and controlling.
Major Responsibilities:
-Assist Financial Manager in developing, reviewing, and maintaining the standard cost system, including establishing annual standard labor and overhead rates for each manufacturing process/product, and reviewing and improving the allocation methodology.
-Collect information needed from various departments and review bills of materials for accuracy.
-Review and analyze manufacturing variance accounts each month and prepare reconciliation reports.
-Review raw material and packaging costs for accuracy on a regular basis.
-Reconcile Purchase Price Variance accounts monthly; and reconcile other material variance accounts monthly.
-Monitor inventory levels for negative quantities and errors; review slow moving and no activity reports for potential write offs; and ensure un-salable and discontinued items are disposed of, written off or reserved for as appropriate.
-Responsible for the annual physical inventory activities.
-Compile cost data for preparation of annual Operating Planning
-Maintain Cost Modeling Program for one or more commodities, Work with HQ for global cost model analysis.
-Perform other directly related appropriate duties as assigned.
Requirement:
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
-Minimum of four years experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment. MNC and/or Automotive experience preferred.
-Experience with ERP system is a must. Mfg/Pro (QAD) experience highly preferred.
-Knowledge of both Chinese and US GAAP
-Advance Excel skills preferred
-Good English skills in both written and verbal
