Job Title: Material Manager-美资汽车零部件知名企业
Reports To: GM
Location: China – Huzhou
Duties and Responsibilities
Start and build Purchasing and Logistic team
Develop and implement a purchasing and logistic system and procedures for the department
Support business registration
Support facility design and construction of facility
Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with suppliers and logistic suppliers
Responsible for inventory control of direct materials, spare parts and auxiliary materials.
Support TS6949 and ISO 14001 certification process
Support the General Manager to achieve the company’s goals and objectives
Provide vision and leadership for the future growth of the department
Responsible for shipping and receiving activity
Overall control and management of the Purchasing and Logistic team
Interface with Human Resources to establish:
Minimum hiring requirements for the Manufacturing team
Consistent on-going training and career planning
Salary planning and incentive programs
Control the purchasing of direct material, spare parts, auxiliary material and service within the company target
Inspire and motivate the team to be innovative
Train and develop the Purchasing and Logistic team to be technical leaders in their own field
Support sales and marketing activities through development of an integral purchasing and logistic strategy that is aligned to the business model for the Asia sales/growth revenue plan.
Share best practices between Europe and USA. Rotate resources and develop consistent processes
Develop purchasing and logistic local strategies with global perspective
Develop plans to meet production strategies with Manufacturing, Finance and Quality departments
Execute supplier evaluation and supplier development in line with KSS guidelines
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Understanding of vehicle restraint system
• Project management - APQP
• Experience of work with ERP or similar integrated IT solution for supply-chain management
• Demonstrated leadership in implementing organizational, process, and technical improvements
• Strong communication / negotiation / coaching / training / and presentation skills
• Understanding of engineering and product development processes
• Comfortable with initiating and implementing change
• Fluent in English
• Dependable and result driven
• Passion to train and develop people, establish system and procedures
• Open minded, pragmatic, flexible, and adaptable
• Respectful of other culture
• Appreciation of Contract and Sale of Goods law
• Experience dealing with global suppliers
• Willing and available to travel on business trip upon short notice
Experience Required:
Minimum 7-10 years purchasing and logistic experience, preferably in automotive occupant safety restraints systems
Knowledge of customs and shipping regulations
Knowledge of Kanban and warehouse and material flow layout
Asia automotive knowledge base critical to the success of the position
